“Shepherd’s Love” 48”x72”, oil on canvas

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?” – Luke 15:4

Jesus never stopped searching for lost souls; he travels the world to find each one of them to give salvation and redemption.

Many metaphors were applied to the painting as inspiration for its narratives. One such is how the twilight represents the end of the time, like the shepherd was endlessly searching for his lost lamb, until he found it. The open horizon represents the world of space for him to travel. The tree represents the kingdom of heaven, which is grown on the rock, with birds coming to nest from all over the world. The shepherd’s hook, represents authority, among other themes represented in the work.

This painting is to glorify the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who tirelessly gives His unconditional love to sinners, and never gives up until the last lost soul is saved.
